The first thing I did when i got it was a paper test, after i wiped off all the oil/wax it was coated in for storage/shipping. it cut well, then reoiled it. There was a few scuffs on the blade up near the point but they didn't really concern me, I took off the handle to see the full tang, and getting the bamboo pegs out was sort of a difficult task for the first time, they were in there tight, and getting the handle away from the tsuba was very hard because of how tight it is, (same goes for putting it back on). all in all, a very well made sword, beautifully decorated tsuba, i looked at a lot of different functional swords 200 dollars and less before I decided on this one, and I'm happy I did. even with the scuffs, I still look forward to getting a display stand and displaying this thing. There is a tiny dent on the front tsuba guard, (the piece between the tsuba and the blade that can't even be removed (at least I couldn't)) however it's so small it's hardly noticable unless the light hits it just right, so it doesn't bother me.

This is one sweet blade! The balance and feel in your hand is awesome. I hesitated on this before buying but couldn't be happier with the purchase. All the Cold Steel quality that I expect and more!

Das war und nicht alles eigentlich wirklich notwendig zu wissen für euch - aber wie sonst sollt Ihr die Bestätigung erfahren die Ihr meines Erachtens nach erhalten solltet, denn 200 DM alleine kann auch nicht lange leben.

I am a sword collector. Not the decorative type, I love the functional battle ready type. This sword is both in my eyes. It is well crafted with good balance would be good for a Zombie Apocalypse. It arrived nice and shard of course I will fine tune it. After I write this I want to see what else they have to offer.

If you look at the question and answer section for this sword someone asked if you can cut a watermelon. Someone answered that the Damascus lines are just a decal that can be removed with chemicals. This is not true. You can see the continuation of the Damascus lines where the blade has been sharpened.

I was quite pleased with this katana

this is a fantastic sword. the only issue with it is the handle wrap is not the same as shown in the image (same color as all other bio hazard green weapons) its well built and would make a good collection starter for any katana lover.
